Police Scotland has informed the family of Chris Smith, the missing British runner, that they have discovered a body in Perthshire, Scotland. Although formal identification has yet to be done, it is likely the 43-year-old athlete.

Smith had left from to run on Tuesday at 3:00 PM but failed to return as expected a couple of hours later.
The discovery of a man’s body was made near along the route that he had planned to travel at approximately 11:50 AM on Thursday, Oct. 2).
The Thames Valley Harrier, Smith, was known as a competitive mountain runner, finishing in the top-10 of the European and World mountain running championships.
a fundraising page was created by Smith’s fellow GB international athlete Marc Scott, raising money for Scottish Mountain Rescue.
