Twenty-four-year-old, Ebsite Tilahun Asres, of Ethiopia has been sanctioned by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for an anti-doping rule violation.
On 3 December 2023, the Athlete provided a urine sample in-competition in Nanning, China. ON Dec. 29, her in-competition test result produced a results showing the presence of triamcinolone acetonide.
The AIU has banned Ebsite Tilahun Asres (Ethiopia) for 2 years from 3 June 2024 for Presence of a Prohibited Substance (Triamcinolone acetonide). DQ results from 3 December 2023

Asres had received an intramuscular injection of triamcinolone acetonide in the summer to treat her asthma, however, the timing and results of the tests were found to be inconsistent with the treatment. The healthcare worker — a traditional healer — refused to disclose all of the ingredients from the injection.
The athlete enters into a period of ineligibility of two years commencing on June 3, 2024 (the date of Provisional Suspension) and
disqualification of her results since Dec. 3, 2023, with all resulting consequences, including the forfeiture of any titles, awards, medals, points, prizes and appearance money.
Asres ran the Košice Marathon in Oct. 2023 in the time of 2:28:02 in Košice, Slovakia.
