American sprinter and Olympic gold medallist Gabby Thomas was interviewed on Jimmy Kimmell Live by RuPaul, who was guest hosting the show. In an opportunity to support athletics, Thomas did the sport proud and had the audience cheering on several occasions. It helped that RuPaul highlight Thomas’ education with her master’s degree and start in microbiology.

Showing off the three Paris Olympic gold medals didn’t hurt.
More recently, Noah Lyles’s long-time girlfriend Junelle Bromfield has been cyberbullied by fellow Jamaicans on the colour of her skin. Bromfield wrote on social media, “I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica, especially as a nation that is filled with black people.”

Bromfield, a track athlete met Lyles in 2017. She competed in the 4 x 400m. She is a silver medallist from the 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships. Bromfield did not make the podium in Paris.
