Taoufik Allam

The 2022 Dublin Marathon winner Taoufik Allam of Morocco has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for the performance-enhancing Drug (PED) Erythropoietin (EPO).

In that win, Allam won €12,000 or $13,416 USD. He won in the time of 2:11.30, which was greater than two minutes ahead of Ethiopia’s Ashenafi Boja who clocked a 2:13.58 performance. Birhanu Teshome of Ethiopia finished third in 2:14:25.

He then went on to win and set his current personal best at the 2023 Rome Marathon in the time of 2:07.43 in March of 2023. In April this year, he won the Enschede Marathon in the time of 2:08:58.

Dominique Lasconi Mulamba

Dominique Lasconi Mulamba of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has tested positive for the metabolites of the steroid stanozolol. The sprinter owns best of 10.16 and 21.13 seconds in the 100m and 200m events. Mulamba is a four-time national champion. A notice of the provisional suspension was given on Wednesday.

Nataliya Lehonkova

Nataliya Lehonkova of Ukraine has been suspended for the presence of EPO. A notice of allegation has been issued.

The 41-year-old marathon runner clocked her lifetime personal best of 2:28:58 during the 2017 running of the Dublin Marathon.

Nancy Jelagat Meto

Thirty-eight-year-old Nancy Jelagat Meto of Kenya has been suspended. The 2021 Valencia Marathon runner clocked a 2:19:31 in her only marathon, and it was a demonstrative win, dropping the field late for clear sailing. She was also a consistent 31-minute 10K and 10,000m runner for several years. She tested positive for furosemide.

Furosemide is known as a loop diuretic. It is given to help treat fluid retention (edema) and swelling that is caused by congestive heart failure, liver disease, kidney disease, and other medical conditions.
