Grace Fetherstonhaugh competed in the 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships for Canada. Fetherstonhaugh currently competes for the NCAA Division 1 Oregon State University Beavers specializing in the 3000-metre steeplechase.

Fetherstonhaugh was surprised to find out about the invite as she hadn’t made the qualifying time, however, was ranked 64th in the world with her personal best of 9:37.56. The 21-year-old New Westminster, BC native (Greater Vancouver) ran her personal best at the new Hayward Field in June 2022.

She had the opportunity to race in the stadium six times this year, which gave her a sense of familiarity against a backdrop of running royalty, world-class athletes, coaches, and dignitaries.

She has two more years of eligability left at OSU and is currently getting ready for the cross-country season.

Her goal is to make the NCAA national championships this year.
