The USATF Indoor Championships had an exciting finish to the meet on Sunday. There were record-breaking performances at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex as Hobbs Kessler, and Nikki Hiltz doubled down in the 1500 metre and 3000 metre events in Staten Island.

Hobbs Kessler raced both the 1500m in 3:38.82 and the 3000m. He took the led early. Meanwhile, Luke Houser and Sam Prakel and Luke Houser chased Kessler to the finish line. Houser finished second in 3:39.14, while Prakel took third in 3:39.27. Kesslerās final lap was fast furious. The performance makes him the first man since 2018 to win both the 1500 and 3000 titles at the USATF indoor championships.
Seven men ran under 3:42.00
Kessler won the 3000m on Saturday in a meet record time of 7:38.00. Taking second was Dylan Jacobs in 7:38.02 followed by Sam Gilman
with this 7:38.64 third place run.
Twelve men ran under 7:45.00.

Then it was Nikki Hiltz’ turn. She won her third consecutive title in this event clocking 4:05.76. Hiltz led the race at 800m with 2:16.32 showing on the clock before smashing the final 400m in 58.62 bettering Sinclaire Johnson who finished in a new personal best time of 4:06.05. Heather MacLean recorded a 4:06.69 performance also in a new personal best time.
Seven women ran under 4:10.00.
Hiltz had already won the 3000m event the day prior, finishing in the time of 8:48.28. She defeated Shelby Houligan and Wittni Morgan. The two recorded 8:48.43 and 8:48.56, respectively.
Eleven women run under 9:00.00.
