London Stadium will be hosting a new track meet in mid-July 2021 as a World Athletics World Cup meet.
British Athletics announced the news. The format of the meet will focus on sprints and middle-distance events up to the 1500m.
Other confirmed countries are China, France, Germany, USA, South Africa, Poland and Jamaica, so far.
The two-day, mid-week meet will have one male and one female athlete from each nation selected to compete directly into a finals, which will be held in the evening at the London Stadium, which was the primary venue of the 2012 London Olympic Games
The prize purse will be £1.45 million or $1.89 million USD.
