Current 1500-metre world record holder Faith Kipyegon of Kenya will be seeking to improve her best of 3:49.04 in the Rome Diamond League meet this weekend.

The 30-year-old three-time defending Olympic champion will be running today (Friday, August 30).

As nine of the top eleven 1500m times in history have been run over the past three years expectations are high that she may clock a new record and perhaps a 3:48 time. One of her competitors is Australian Jessica Hull bringing her personal best to the line of 3:50.83. Will Kipyegon pull her to an even better Oceania record? Hull is the fourth-fastest runner in 1500m history with the eighth-fastest time. Four of the performances ahead of her are from Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon.
