Margaret Chelima ran a new personal best road time of 29:50 at the 2021 Valencia 10km on Sunday. Her win led a Kenyan podium sweep of the event. Weather conditions were perfect, sunny, and warm with very little breeze.
Norah Jeruto finished second in 30:07, while Sandrafelis Tuei took third in the time of 30:44. Jeruto owns a best from January 2020 in Valencia at 29:51.
The men’s race saw Eritrean-Norweigan Zerei Kbrom win in the time of 27:39 ahead of Kenyan Collins Koros, who clocked 27:41, while Ronald Kirui took third clocking a 27:56 performance.
It was a personal best and national record for the 35-year-old Kbrom.
