Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the 10-time World champion, continued to demonstrate her prowess. Running with a tailwind of +3.1 m/s, she finished a season-opening 100 metre sprint in the time of 10.94 seconds. She finished well in front of fellow Jamaican Natasha Morrison (11.01) and Trinidad & Tobago’s Shaniqua Bascombe (11.28). They were competing at the Velocty Fest in Kingston at the National Stadium.

Morrison has run faster with her pb of 10.85 seconds from Sept. 2023 at Hayward Field. For the 21-year-old Bascome, the performance was a new personal best time.
Fraser-Pryce is a 10-time World champion, five-time world silver medallist and also earned a bronze in the 100m, 4 x 100m and 200m events. She is a three-time Olympic champion. The 38-year-old diminutive but powerful sprinter has also won four Olympic silver and one Olympic bronze medal during her career.
