An Olympic rematch in the women’s 800 metres will take place at the 50th Pre Classic on Saturday, July 5. The meet will be headlined by all three 2024 Paris Olympic Games medallists: Keely Hodgkinson, Tsige Duguma, and Mary Moraa.

All three have run sub-1:58.

Hodgkinson owns the British national record of 1:54.61 which he ran during the 2024 London Diamond League meet. She has won silver at the Tokyo Olympic Games, and World Athletics Championships. In addition to winning gold in Paris, she also earned gold at the Munich and Rome European Championships and silver at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Moraa took bronze during both the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games. She won gold at the Budapest Championships where she set her personal best of 1:56.03 in 2023.

The Ethiopian Duguma earned silver at the Paris Olympic Games. Her personal best is 1:57.15.
