The return of the Abu Dhabi Marathon in the United Arab Emirates was announced on the weekend. The race will take place Friday, November 26 and a good-size prize purse is up for grabs.

The total prize purse for the event is $303,000 USD. Winners of the marathon will take home $50,000 each.

A course record bonus of $30,000 is up for grabs. The current records are 2:04:40 and 2:21:01, respectively. Also, the 10K and wheelchair divisions will earn $8,500 and $11,000 for the wins.

Rueben Kipyego set the course record in 2019 at 2:04:40. The 25-year-old has run as fast as 2:03:55. If he is in great form, he will likely go out at sub-2:04 pace to try to earn the price bonus.

Kenyan Vivian Kiplagat owns the women’s course record at 2:21:11, also from the 2019 edition. The performance represents the 29-year-old’s lifetime best.

In addition to the marathon, there will be a marathon relay for teams of two, 10K, 5K, and 2.5K races.
