On Tuesday, March 10, there are more postponements and cancellations due to concern over the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Italian Olympic Committee has suspended all sports until April 3. The committee held a meeting of national federations and collectively made the decision although they do not govern clubs or national teams, who may continue to compete and train.

Globally, several marathons have been affected by postponements, cancellations or limiting the size of field – taking out the mass participation portion. Some of these include Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Tokyo, Valencia among others.

The International Ice Hockey Federation has postponed the world championships until sometime in 2021. In tennis, the Indian Wells Masters Tournament has been cancelled. Sailing in the World Yacht Race has been rerouted and meanwhile, golf tournaments in Egypt and Kenya have been postponed. The Japan Rugby Football Union is considering extending their break due to COVID-19.

Thailand has withdrawn from the Tokyo 2020 Wheelchair Rugby competition.

Sapporo, Japan, where the Olympic marathon and race walk events are to take place due to milder temperatures than what Tokyo offers – 800K north – have declared a state of emergency due to the virus.

ITU World Triathlon Series event scheduled for Abu Dhabi is postponed.

The Kyrgyz Republic withdraws from hosting an Asian Olympic wrestling qualifier over coronavirus.
