Eliud Kipchoge, no longer the dominating marathon world record holder and perpetual Marathon Majors winner, is now on a sunset-like tour of several events. The now master’s-age runner can still beat the majority of competitors, and his name continues to carry weight, so he is travelling and making appearances around the world.

The latest announcement has him in Melbourne, Australia. It is one of seven stops on seven continents during his 2026 and 2017 tour, happening Oct. 11. The remainder of the tour will be announced soon.

“Running brings people together across all borders,” said Kipchoge. “I am excited to return to Australia and experience the energy of the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival. The Australian running community is booming, and the passion I experienced here before will stay with me for a lifetime. I saw that Australia is a real outdoor country with a big love for sports. That is why I can´t wait to come back, experience a new part of this great country and run together with the people of Melbourne and all of Oceania.”

The Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival is hosting the former world record holder for the weekend.

Kipchoge’s South American stop will be in Brazil at the July 12 weekend NB42k Porto Alegre.

“Running is a universal language that speaks to hope, discipline, and unity,” said Kipchoge. “I am very excited to come to Brazil and experience the passion of the people of Porto Alegre. Every continent has its own spirit, and I look forward to sharing this journey with South America while inspiring people to believe that no human is limited.”

His African stop will be in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on May 24.

“Africa is where my journey as a runner began and where the foundation of my success is deeply rooted,” said Kipchoge. “To start this World Tour in Cape Town is very special. It is about celebrating the strength of African running and inspiring the next generation. To run my first-ever marathon on the African continent holds deep meaning for me. I cannot wait!”
