The years go by, but some things remain the same. That’s a saying Jessica Hull would certainly agree with. The Australian, who has consistently performed well in Monaco, has confirmed her presence in the Herculis EBS Meeting on July 11. She will compete in a familiar event here, the 1000 metres.

Comfortable across a wide range of distances, Hull will come to Monaco to test her finishing speed in preparation for the World Championships in Tokyo (September 13–21, 2025), while going head-to-head with top-tier international competition. The meeting record, held by Faith Kipyegon since 2020 (2:29.15), could be in danger.

Last year, the Louis II Stadium roared as Hull soared to a stunning world record in the 2000m, clocking 5:19.70 (breaking the previous mark of 5:21.56 set by Francine Niyonsaba in 2021). Could history repeat itself this year?

Hull holds the Australian and Oceania records in the 1500m distance event at 3:50.83. She set the time in the Diamond League last July at Stade de Charléty, Paris.

The 28-year-old also holds the 3000m short track (indoors) Australian and Oceania record at 8:24.39.

She holds the mile (1609m) record indoors and outdoors with her 4:19.03 and 4:15.34 runs, respectively.
