Moroccan-born Spanish athlete Ouassim Oumaiz has been suspended for four years for doping.
On March 13, 2024, it was revealed that he tested positive in a test conducted on January 11, which indicated the presence of GHRP-2 (growth hormone-releasing peptide. One year later, the Spanish Anti-Doping Agency (CELAD) announced the athlete’s final sanction, which will not allow him to compete again until June 7, 2028. The four-year ban began on June 7, 2024.

The 25-year-old holds personal bests in the 5000 metre event at 13:06.42, 1500m in 3:36.83 and 3000m 7:40.62.
GHRP-2 or Pralmorelin is an oral synthetic peptide drug. It acts as a growth hormone secretagogue receptor. Administration of the drug markedly increases the levels of plasma growth hormone.
CELAD is officially the Spanish Commission for the Fight Against Doping in Sports (CELAD). The organization is a Spanish state agency responsible for the protection of the right to health of all athletes and the protection of the right to participate in a competition without cheats, according to its website.
