The last race in the Frontrunners Island Race Series – Sooke 10K – will take place on Sunday, April 19 at 11 am. There will be a 10:30 am start for walkers and slower runners. The race will start and finish at Edward Milne School, 6218 Sooke Rd, and is hosted by the Island Road Racers. The Island Series awards will follow the race.
Runners can register online until noon Thursday, April 16 at www.vira.bc.ca or on race day at Edward Milne School from 9:00 am – 10:30 am. Race registration is $25 for adults and $20 for students until April 16. Race day fees are $35.
“We expect over 400 runners on Sunday and as the final race in the Series, we expect some exciting competition,” says Ken Chew, Race Director. “Victoria’s Craig Odermatt leads the standings but he is closely followed by Derek Vinge from Comox. Claire Morgan, last year’s winner, is also in with a chance to take the series title.”
In the club standings the Prairie Inn Harriers lead with 3122 points followed by Comox Valley Road Runners with 2285, and Bastion Running Club with 1481. All races are sanctioned by BC Athletics.
