British teenager Innes FitzGerald, age 19, ran a new parkrun record, clocking 15:27 at the Exmouth parkrun in Southern England.

The performance improves upon the previous record of 15:31 by British runner Melissa Courtney-Bryant, 80 kilometres west in Poole December 24, 2022, by four seconds.

FitzGerald ran a 15:47 on Christmas Day in Seaton on a more challenging course.

Her two parkrun races end a big year on a high note. She competed in the Tokyo World Athletics Championships and ran several new personal bests in 2025.

FitzGerald ran a new PB in the 5000m event, clocking a national U20 record with a 14:39.56 performance on July 19 at the London Athletics Meet. She also improved her indoor and outdoor 3000m best times, running 8:40.05 indoors and 8:32.90 outdoors, respectively. The indoor performance is a new U20 European record.

She is a member of the club Exeter Harriers Athletic Club.

The Beer, Devon native is best known for winning the World U20 Cross Country Championships in 2023, 2024 and 2025, claiming gold in both the individual and team categories.
