Thirty-four-year-old Kenyan doper, Stephen Kipchirchir Kiplagat, has been suspended for four years by the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya.
The Sports Disputes Tribunal agrees with the sentence.
The SDT has reinforced ADAK's four-year ban on athlete Stephen Kipchirchir Kiplagat.

In his submissions to the SDT, the athlete had argued that he was given traditional medicine by his gogo (grandmother) to heal his erectyle dysfunction.

Kiplagat tested positive for anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS)/pregnanediol, androsterone and etiocholanolone. He was initially provisionally suspended by ADAK in March 2023. Since then, he has not provided enough proof that he did not intentionally consume the performance-enhancing drugs. Kiplagat claimed that he was using medicine that his mother provided.
“The period of ineligibility shall be from the date of mandatory Provisional Suspension for a period of four (4) years starting 18th April 2023 to 17th April 2027. Disqualification of any and/or all of the Athlete’s competitive results from 18th December 2022.”
His personal best in the marathon is 2:11:45 which he ran in Linz, Austria in 2108. IN Rennes, France Kiplagat or Kipchirchir as he is also known ran 28:09 in a road 10K in 2012.
