After the race, in which Ougra finished fourth, he was approached by a chaperone (not the doping control officer). He was told he needed to report to the DCO on-site to provide a sample. Ougra asked for an opportunity for a cool-down run. While going back and forth between the track and his knapsack, he eventually slipped out of sight and disappeared.
Attempts were made to contact him over WhatsApp and by phone, however, he failed to answer.
After contacting his coach, Ougra decided to contact the AIU to explain his situation. It amounted to him never being tested and not understanding the process, which made him nervous.
The 24-year-old admitted fault and was given a four-year, less a year, suspension in July 2024. Ougra has the right to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
In June of 2023, Ougra set his 3000m steeplechase personal best at 8:24.76 in Huelva, Spain.
