Ben Flanagan won the 2019 Pacific Distance Carnival 10,000m race.
He pushed the effort over the final mile in a gradual process to take a big lead that couldn’t be relinquished against a kick. Lucas Bruchet and Rory Linkletter finished second and third.
Flanagan is known for being the NCAA Div 1 men’s 10,000m national champion. His best over the 10K distance on the track is 28:17, about 20 seconds faster than he ran Thursday in Vancouver at Swangard Stadium.
