Genevieve Lalonde won the 2019 Canadian Cross Country Championships. It is her second win in a row at national cross.
She is a 2016 Rio Olympian and the national record holder in the 3,000m steeplechase.
She led a pack of three women out front for much of the 10-kilometre race before dropping everyone else during the final lap. The two other primary competitors were Sarah Inglis and Maria Bernard–Galea as well as Natasha Wodak, a former winner who finished back a bit in fourth position.
