Jim Finlayson of Victoria, BC unofficially broke the beer mile world record for super masters age 40-plus on Saturday, September 26, 2015, in Victoria, BC. Kingston Beer Mile officially considers 30-plus to be masters age and “super masters” for over 40.
Finlayson previously held the open beer mile world record at 5:07, he has run that time again in 2015 with Amsterdam Blonde as his beverage of choice. He has also run a 5:21.40, but today he ran approximately 5:01.24, while using Sleeman’s Honey Cream Ale.
Lewis Kent of Mississauga, Ontario currently holds the open world record at 4:55.80 from 2015, while Australian Josh Harris has run the second fastest all-time performance with his 4:56.20. Finlayson now owns the first three fastest super masters times.
Also in this race are Peter Corrigan and Trevor O’Brien.
